GEMS began in 2005 in the heart of a ten year-old girl who wanted to engage her world in a positive way.
The GEMS Club encourages girls to be good citizens and lead moral lives. Gems strive to exemplify personal virtue and also engage in public projects that help others. Girls are a powerful force that can change the world for good!
Whose Moral Standards?
Webster’s Dictionary defines moral as “sanctioned by or operative on one’s conscience or ethical judgment.” Problem is, the worst of criminals operate by their own conscience–however corrupt it may be. So the one’s judgment GEMS seek to conform to is that of Jesus Christ. We have not found a higher standar than that He has set, and we feel the world deserves nothing less.
